For my second skillshare class, I wanted to focus on two key areas which calligraphers usually ask about: colour and pen manipulation. Using the pen skills we learn in the class, the class project is to design a colourful "organic ornament".

Endless possibilities:
In the first section, we'll do exercises to introduce pen manipulation - twisting and rotating the pen to achieve more advanced pen strokes.
Then, we'll add colour and speed!
In the second section of the class, I review inks that work well in the Pilot Parallel pen, demonstrating how to re-fill ink cartridges, and my favorite colour technique.
Creating colourful, decorative ornaments is just such a great way to practice pen techniques while having fun!
